DEFINITIONS & DESCRIPTIONS:
Breed In-Hand Classes and Divisions
Purebred Filly Foals (class 49) – This class is open to all purebred 2011 filly foals.
Purebred Colt Foals (class 50) – This class is
open to all purebred 2011 colt foals.
Purebred Foal Championship - Open to 2011
foals who received a first or second place ribbon in class 49 or 50.
The Mountain Dove Tribute Class for RID Mares
Four-years Old and up (class 51) – Open to RID Mares four years of age or older.
Purebred Yearlings (class 52) – Open to Purebred
2010 fillies, colts, and geldings.
Purebred Two-Year Olds (class 53) - Open to Purebred 2009 fillies, colts, and geldings.
Purebred Three-Year Olds (class 54) - Open to Purebred 2008 fillies, colts, and geldings.
Purebred Youngstock Championship – Open to horses who received a first or second place ribbon in classes 49, 50, 52, 53 and 54.
Purebred Female Championship – Open to mares and fillies who received a first or second place ribbon in classes 49, 51, 52, 53 and 54.
Purebred Geldings Four-Years Old and up (class 55) – Open to RID geldings four-years old and older.
Purebred Stallions Four-Years Old and up (class 56) – Open to RID stallions four-years old and older.
Purebred In-Hand Championship – Open to horses who received a first or second place ribbons is classes 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, and 56.
Get of Sire (class 57) – Two to three get of a single RID Sire to be judged as a group. Use appropriate tack and turn out for the age of each entry. Coordination with the Stallion Owner is recommended. Entry for this class will occur at the
show no later than 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2011.
Progeny of Dam (class 58) - Two or more progeny of a single RID Dam to be judged as a group. Use appropriate tack and turn out for the age of each entry. Coordination with the Mare Owner is recommended. Entry for this class will occur at the show no later than 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2011.
Partbred Filly Foals (class 59) – This class is open to all partbred 2011 filly foals.
Partbred Colt Foals (class 60 ) – This class is open to all partbred 2011 colt foals.
Partbred Foal Championship - Open to 2011 foals who received a first or second place ribbon in class 59 and 60.
Partbred Broodmares Four-years Old and up (class 61) - Open to RIDSH Mares four years of age or older.
Partbred Yearlings (class 62) – Open to Partbred
2010 fillies, colts, and geldings.
Partbred Two-Year Olds (class 63) - Open to
Partbred 2009 fillies, colts, and geldings.
Partbred Three-Year Olds (class 64) - Open to
Partbred 2008 fillies, colts, and geldings.
Partbred Youngstock Championship - Open to
horses who received a first or second place ribbon
in classes 59, 60, 62, 63, and 64.
Partbred Geldings Four-Years Old and up (class
65) – Open to RIDSH geldings four-years old and
older.
Partbred Stallions Four-Years Old and up (class 66) – Open to RIDSH stallions fouryears
old and older.
Partbred In-Hand Championship - Open to
horses who received a first or second place
ribbon in classes 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65,
and 66.
Junior Handler (67) Open to handlers 18
years and under. Handlers may handle yearlings,
two year olds, three year olds, mares,
and geldings (stallions not permitted). To be
judged on handling technique and turnout of
horse and handler. Competitors to be judged
over the duration of the show on barn management
and etiquette, handling technique
and turnout of horse and handler. Handlers
are required to braid their own horses. Handlers
to wear a helmet if handling a yearling,
two year old or three year old.
Youngstock Utility: (68) Purebred and
Partbred horses ages yearling to three year
old will be judged over a series of obstacles
which could include walking over a tarp,
backing through an L, having an umbrella
opened, or opening a gate. To be judged
on relaxed navigation through the course.
The Snowford Bellman Award - Open to
all horses and handlers; not open to professional
handlers. The intent of this award is
to recognize a special relationship between
the handler and their horse. This award is
to be presented to the combination that
may not be a winning one, but the artnership
has demonstrated their best abilities in
showmanship, presence, turnout and training.
To be judged by the Irish Judges over
the course of the In-Hand classes during the
show.
