DEFINITIONS & DESCRIPTIONS:
Hunter Divisions

Warm Up Class (class 20) – This class is for horses that are just beginning their careers; choice of either 18” or 2’ fences.

First Timers Hunter (class 21) – This class is for horses that are just beginning their careers; they must be able to jump 6 fences at 18”.

Baby Green Hunter (classes 22, 23, & 24) - This division is for horses that are in their first or second year of showing and must be able to jump 8 fences at 2’ and walk, trot and canter in a group.

Rusty Stirrup (25, 26, & 27) This division is for riders that are novice riders or are have not ridden for a number of years. There will be 8 fences at 2’ and a walk, trot, canter in a group.

Novice Hunter (classes 28, 29 & 30) - This division is for horses that have not won a division championship at 2’6” or higher. They will jump a regular hunter course at 2’6”.

Hunter Pairs Hack (class 31) – This class is for horses of similar color and size, to be ridden side-by-side at a walk, trot, and canter in both directions of the ring; may be asked to halt, back 5-steps or hand gallop.

Hunter Pairs Over Fences (class 32) – This class is for horses of similar color and size, to be ridden over fences at 2’6”. They will be asked to jump 5 fences, the first two fences in tandem with one horse in the lead, jump a fence in the middle
side-by-side, and then jump the last two fences in tandem with the other horse in the lead.

Low Hunter (classes 34, 35, & 36) – Horses will jump a hunter course of fences at 3’.

Junior Hunter (37, 38, & 39) Riders under age 18 will jump a course of fences at 3’.

Foxhunter Turnout (class 40) Both Horse and Rider will be judged on turnout. Attire and tack to be appropriate for the hunt field.

Foxhunter (41, 42, & 43) - Horses will jump 3’0” and may be asked to demonstrate hunter field skills (i.e., open/close a gate, drop a pole, lead over a fence, back 5-steps, etc.) Note that one fence will be taken at the discretion of the rider to best demonstrate their horse’s suitability as a field hunter.

Working Hunter (44, 45, & 46) – Horses will jump a hunter course of fences at 3’3”.

Purebred/Partbred Irish Hunters Horses (classes 47 and 48) – Horses to be shown under saddle at a walk, trot, canter, halt, back 5-steps, and hand gallop in both directions of the ring. A riding judge will mount and ride each horse. The horses may have their saddles removed, asked to be set up and shown in hand at the walk and trot for the conformation portion of the class.

Breed In-Hand Classes and Divisions

Purebred Filly Foals (class 49) – This class is open to all purebred 2011 filly foals.

Purebred Colt Foals (class 50) – This class is open to all purebred 2011 colt foals.

Purebred Foal Championship - Open to 2011 foals who received a first or second place ribbon in class 49 or 50.

The Mountain Dove Tribute Class for RID Mares Four-years Old and up (class 51) – Open to RID Mares four years of age or older.

Get of Sire (class 57) – Two to three get of a single RID Sire to be judged as a group. Use appropriate tack and turn out for the age of each entry. Coordination with the Stallion Owner is recommended. Entry for this class will occur at the
show no later than 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2011.

Progeny of Dam (class 58) - Two or more progeny of a single RID Dam to be judged as a group. Use appropriate tack and turn out for the age of each entry. Coordination with the Mare Owner is recommended. Entry for this class will occur at the show no later than 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2011.

Partbred Filly Foals (class 59) – This class is open to all partbred 2011 filly foals.

Partbred Colt Foals (class 60 ) – This class is open to all partbred 2011 colt foals.

Partbred Foal Championship - Open to 2011 foals who received a first or second place ribbon in class 59 and 60.

Junior Handler (67) Open to handlers 18 years and under. Handlers may handle yearlings, two year olds, three year olds, mares, and geldings (stallions not permitted). To be
judged on handling technique and turnout of horse and handler. Competitors to be judged over the duration of the show on barn management and etiquette, handling technique
and turnout of horse and handler. Handlers are required to braid their own horses. Handlers to wear a helmet if handling a yearling, two year old or three year old.

Youngstock Utility: (68) Purebred and Partbred horses ages yearling to three year old will be judged over a series of obstacles which could include walking over a tarp, backing through an L, having an umbrella opened, or opening a gate. To be judged on relaxed navigation through the course.

The Snowford Bellman Award - Open to all horses and handlers; not open to professional handlers. The intent of this award is to recognize a special relationship between the handler and their horse. This award is to be presented to the combination that may not be a winning one, but the artnership
has demonstrated their best abilities in showmanship, presence, turnout and training. To be judged by the Irish Judges over the course of the In-Hand classes during the
show.

DEFINITIONS & DESCRIPTIONS:
Jumper Divisions

Puddle Jumpers (classes 69 and 70) - These two classes are for horses that are in their first or second year of showing over fences and must be able to jump 8 fences at 2’.

Baby Jumpers (classes 71 and 72) - These two classes are for horses that have not won a division championship at 2’6” or higher. Horses must be able to jump a course at 2’6”.

Level One Jumpers (classes 73 and 74) - Horses will jump a course of fences at 2’9” – 3’

Junior Jumpers (75 and 76) Riders under 18 will jump a course of fences 2’9” – 3’ Level Two Jumpers (classes 78 and 79 ) - Horses will jump a course of fences at 3’0” – 3’3”.

Level Three Jumpers (classes 81 and 82) - Horses will jump a course of fences at 3’3”- 3’6”

Level Four Jumpers (classes 83 and 84)– Horses will jump a course of fences at 3’6” – 3’9”

Eventing Calcutta Derby (85) All rider/ horse teams will submit a biography to be read by the announcer in order to auction the horses to the spectators. Spectators bid on who they think the winning pair will be. All funds go into a pot and are split 1/3 to the winning horse & rider, 1/3 to the spectator
that bid on the winner and 1/3 to the show. Fences will be 3’0 – 3’6” and there will be at least 8 obstacles. If you jump a clean round than you move to the jump off using Table II,
Section 2(b).

  • The first round and first jump!off, if any, are decided by adding together the faults incurred over the course and any penalties for exceeding the Time Allowed.
    If a competitor has gone clean in the first round, the competitor will, without leaving the ring, upon an audible signal, commence the designated jump!off course. A competitor with a clear round may dismount,
    and with assistance if necessary, adjust tack and/or equipment; however, upon the audible signal to begin his/her round, the competitor is responsible to adhering to the 45 seconds rule as per JP134.3. A competitor who leaves the arena after a clear round (before or after the tone) will be considered to have retired from the jump!off. If there are no clean rounds and a tie exists for first place, there will be one jump-off in which time will decide in the event of equality of faults. It is recommended that no more than ten numbered obstacles be included in the first round when the class is scored under this table.

Combined Test Divisions:

Novice (classes 4 and 77) – Will perform the USEA Novice Test A and jump a regular jumper course set at a maximum height of 2’11”.

Training (classes 8 and 80) – Will perform the USEA Training Test A and jump a regular jumper course set at a maximum height of 3’3”.

USEA Future Event Horse (FEH) Series:

In these classes horses are shown one at a time and on the triangle. Please note that these classes are for horses between the ages of one- and three-years old. Yearlings may be shown in either a halter or a bridle; two- and three-year olds must be shown in a bridle, with either reins or a New Market shank. Handlers may request to use an assistant with a whip if they feel it is needed. NOTE: Exhibitors/Owners of horses in the FEH Series do not need to be members of the IDHSNA and their horses do not need to be registered with IDHSNA; however, horses MUST be registered with USEA.

FEH Yearling Division (classes 86 and 87)– Open to yearlings, they will be judged on the triangle, and in accordance with USEA FEH rules. Yearlings may be shown in either a halter
or bridle.

FEH Yearling Fillies (class 86) – Open to yearling fillies.

FEH Yearling Colts/Geldings (class 87)– Open to yearling colts and geldings

FEH Yearling Championship – Open to horses that have won a first or second place ribbon in classes 86 and 87

Two-Year Old Division (classes 88 and 89) – Open to two-year olds, they will be judged on the triangle, and in accordance with USEA FEH rules. Two-year olds must be shown in a
bridle.

FEH Two-Year Old Fillies (class 88) – Open to two-year old fillies FEH Two-Year Old Colts/Geldings (class 89) – Open to two-year old colts and geldings

FEH Two-Year Old Championship – Open to horses that have won a first or second place ribbon in classes 88 and 89
Three-Year Old Division (classes 90 and 91) – Open to three-year olds, they will be judged on the triangle, and in accordance with USEA FEH Rules. Three-year olds must
be shown in a bridle.

FEH Three-Year Old Fillies (class 90) – Open to three-year old fillies FEH Three-Year Old Colts/Geldings (class 91) – Open to three-year old colts and geldings

FEH Three-Year Old Championship – Open to horses that have won a first or second place ribbon in classes 90 and 91

FEH Overall Championship – Open to the champion and reserve champion for the Yearling, Two-Year Old and Three-Year Old Division.
